Martine Shrubsole

APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist
Commonwealth and Masters Games Physiotherapist
M.Hlth.Sc. (Sports Physio), B.App.Sc. (Physio), B.Sc., APAM, MACP

I grew up in The Shire and currently live and work in Kirrawee. I have worked in Private Practice for the last 20 years and 18 years of those have been in Kirrawee.

Prior to Private Practice I had the privilege to work at The Spinal Unit (Prince Henry/POW), St George Hospital, Broken Hill Base Hospital and for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. These experiences shaped my early physiotherapy career providing me with the much-needed manual therapy, diagnostic, treatment and communication skills necessary to embark on a career in Private Practice.

I was a keen tennis player in my youth and the had the opportunity to undertake a college scholarship in Kansas USA. To this day, I follow the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs along with, Liverpool, the Swans, and the Sharks. My interests now include tennis, soccer, skiing/snowboarding, motorcycling, dogs, the theatre, travel, and I am a self-confessed Foodie.

In 2020 I was inducted into the Australian College of Physiotherapists which recognises my experience, qualifications and mark of professional distinction.  The College represents leaders in clinical practice, research, management and academia for which I am extremely proud to achieve.

I first joined Mi FiZZiO in 2014 and returned in 2017 after the birth of my son. I graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) in 2008, and Masters of Physiotherapy in 2012. During this time, I ran an outdoor personal training business, which provided valuable experience in exercise prescription.

Since graduating I have worked in Private Practice with patients of all ages including weekend warriors up to competitive athletes. I enjoy treating and managing a wide variety of injuries that working in Private Practice involves. I have completed numerous Professional Development courses including Clinical Pilates, Functional Strength and Conditioning, and running retraining.

I particularly enjoy working with runners and triathletes, especially longer distance events. I competed in various running and triathlon events over the last 10 years, from 5km to marathons, and short course triathlon to Ironman distances. Since becoming a mum, I enjoy spending time with my young family and fitting in swimming, biking and running when I can.

As a physiotherapist I have been privileged to work for:

  • Dapto RLFC 2013 – 1 st Grade, Reserve Grade, U/16s
  • Day of Difference Charity Ride 2014

I am the newest member of our Physiotherapy team. I graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science) with Distinction. Whilst completing my undergraduate degree, I interned at St George Illawarra Dragons Rugby League Club and worked with the club’s Exercise Scientists and Physiotherapists as part of the athletic development program. I then continued to study and completed a Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney 2016. I have worked as a qualified Personal Trainer during my studies, with an emphasis on functional movements to promote strength and endurance. This experience has provided me with extensive knowledge and skills when it comes to exercise prescription. I am currently the team Physiotherapist for the Helensburgh Soccer Club. My main interests include surfing and snowboarding.

As a physiotherapist I have been privileged to work for:

  • Helensburgh Men’s First
  • Reserve, Youth Grade Soccer Teams (2017- Present)

Belinda Shrubsole

Practice Manager

I have been working at Mi FiZZiO since its inception.  You’ll find my friendly and knowledgeable face at reception. When I’m not there, I’m behind the scenes, bookkeeping, doing wages and providing support to our fantastic team. I have always been in roles of either sales or customer service. My focus is to ensure that the clinic operates smoothly, efficiently and with a high level of attention and care to all our patients. I enjoy watching my family play baseball on the weekends and have been involved with our baseball club for many years. I have a passion for cooking, having many recipes exchanged with patients.

Over the years I have learnt a great deal about the industry and genuinely enjoy working with people.

Kerrie Shrubsole

I am the Super Sub! You can also catch me at The Village assisting the Staying Steady Balance classes and having morning tea. I have 2 dogs who occasionally make appearances in the office.

Cayleigh Eddy

Hi I’m Cayleigh!! If you are lucky I will be sitting behind the desk when you walk in. I provide the office banter and am always up for a chat. I study Law and Business at UTS (but don’t judge me). I am currently travelling intermittently to compete at national/international elite tennis tournaments. My other interests include dogs, cats, wine, the snow, vegetarian food (but don’t judge me), and good old fashion retail therapy.

Janie Hughes

You’ve heard of the Girl Friday….Well I’m the Girl Monday! When I am not working at Mi FiZZiO, I also work as a sleep technician in a paediatric sleep facility. I’ve been married for 29 years and I’m the mum of 2 adult children and 2 fur babies, and I adore them all. I’m a Shire girl through and through having grown up and lived in the Shire my whole life and raised my children here. I love spending time with my beautiful family and my gorgeous girlfriends. I enjoy dining out, and going to the movies, shows and concerts. I love losing myself in a good book and long walks, barefoot on the beach. The beach is definitely my happy place and it’s where you’ll find me most weekends all year round. Except for those cold, wet, windy days when you’re more than likely to find me curled up on the lounge with a good book, a blanky and my fur babies.

Michelle O’Neill

I’m Michelle and I am the newest member to join the Mi FiZZiO front desk team. I have grown up and still live in Cronulla with my husband, 3 gorgeous children and golden retriever Charlie.

I love the ocean and swim every weekend with my husband and swimming buddies. It is where I met our “Girl Monday” Janie. There is no better way to start the day than with a coffee and a swim. I also love traveling (especially Bali), walking along The Esplanade, and enjoying where we live.
